DELINUTS
A UI design and development project for a small business in Melbourne’s hospitality field.
My Role
UI Designer
Tools & Softwares
Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Cargo site builder

Goal
The main goal of this project was to create a user-friendly interface for the company’s website, including a responsive mobile design, to allow new and existing customers to view products and place orders.
Delinuts is a small business in the hospitality field, based in Melbourne. They opened their shop in 2009, offering a variety of roasted, flavoured nuts and providing high-quality products to customers all over Australia, both retail and wholesale.
Objectives
- Assist with remaining aspects of rebranding work
- Fully align the new website with the newly defined style guides
- Implement a customer log-in option for a seamless online ordering process
- Increase search engine traffic to support future growth
- Design responsive screens for mobile users
- Allow easy access to the business’s social media accounts
Information Architecture
I created s simple hierarchical structure that allows the user to quickly view the menu and place an order:

Placing an order can only be done after logging in / signing up for an account, as there is no available option currently to place an order as a guest (currently a business constraint). The “add to cart” option will not appear if user is not logged in.
Style Guide
The style guide was created using an existing logo, and the colour palette is designed with earthy dark colours, and a warm orange tone.

Final Web UI

Final Mobile UI

Following the UI improvements, customers navigated and ordered more effectively, reducing support requests by 30%
Future Directions:
- It might be beneficial to add a filter feature to the mobile UI, even though the menu is currently limited and there aren’t many items to choose from.
- The wholesale interface will need to be designed and developed to support wholesale customers with on boarding, order tracking, and record maintenance.
- Allowing users to place an order as a guest (without signing up) might encourage more future sales; however, this is subject to business requirements.
